In 1881, the North Star Publishing Company of Minneapolis published History of Hennepin County and the City of Minneapolis, including the Explorers and Pioneers of Minnesota, and Outlines of the History of Minnesota.

Chapter LII, pages 322-328, is devoted to Maple Grove.
